How this calculation works
The Percentage to CGPA Calculator converts percentage marks into equivalent 10-point CGPA and estimated US 4.0 GPA scores for higher education admissions and job applications.
Mathematical formula and logic
CBSE Formula: CGPA = Percentage (%) ÷ 9.5. US 4.0 Scale: GPA = (Percentage / 100) × 4.0.
Worked example
A score of 82.5% converts to 82.5 ÷ 9.5 = 8.68 CGPA on the 10-point scale, and approximately 3.30 GPA on the US 4.0 scale.
Calculation assumptions
- CBSE standard formula divides percentage by 9.5 to calculate equivalent 10-point CGPA.
- Maximum achievable CGPA is capped at 10.0.
